講座からのメッセージ

 歯周病(歯槽膿漏)は、歯と歯ぐきの境目に棲みついた細菌が原因となって起こる病気です。歯周病にかかると歯を支えている組織(歯周組織)がしだいに失われていくため、歯がぐらぐらと揺れるようになり、最後には抜け落ちてしまいます。また、この歯周病はお口の中の病気で最も罹患率が高い病気であり、成人が歯を失う最大の理由となっています。
 口腔治療学講座は、この歯周病の予防と治療を担当する臨床講座です。

講座のご案内

 口腔治療学講座は、歯周病の予防と治療を担当する臨床講座です。
 我々の講座では、歯周病の発症・進行のメカニズムの解明に向けた研究を行うとともに、その知見に基づいた新しい検査・診断法や治療法の研究開発を行っています。最近では、歯周病によって失われた歯周組織を再生させる治療法の開発を進めており、我々が新規に開発した治療法は国際的に高い評価を受けています。授業では、上記の研究成果も踏まえて、歯周病という病気の成り立ち、検査・診断法や治療法について解説するとともに、最新の研究論文の抄読や実際の患者さんの症例を紹介することを通じて、十分なディスカッションを行います。また、実習では、まずはマネキンを用いた模型実習を行って歯周病に対する基本的な治療手技を習得し、その上で実際の患者さんに接しての臨床実習へと進みます。この臨床実習では、包括的な歯周治療を経験するのみならず、歯周組織再生療法などの先端的診療の見学を行い、学習をさらに深めます。これらを通して、自ら “考える”能力を高めることを目標とした教育を行っています。
